Peter Harkin

Peter is a Director of IDS Group and oversees the Investigations and Surveillance Divisions. Prior to joining IDS, Peter had a distinguished record of service in the Queensland Police Service spanning 16 years in various roles, the more recent of those being Sergeant – Senior Intelligence Officer – Bureau of Criminal Intelligence (BCI) and Officer in Charge – Sunshine Coast District Intelligence.

Along with his practical experience in the field Peter has obtained the following qualifications:

• Diploma of Government (Fraud Control);
• Diploma of Government (Investigations);
• Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training;
• Diploma of Business (Frontline Management);
• Certificate III in Investigative Services;
• Diploma of Public Safety (Policing);
• Advanced Diploma of Intelligence Practice; and
• Behavioural Interviewing Qualification.

Peter currently holds the following executive positions on Industry Associations:

• Secretary of the Queensland Division of the Institute of Mercantile Agents Ltd (IMA);
• President of the Australian Investigators Association (AIA is a Division of the IMA) ;
• Regional Director (Australia & NZ) Council of International Investigators (CII); and
• World Association of Detectives Ambassador (Australia).
